UPCOMING EVENT

70th Annual Freedom Fund Membership Gala & 75th Branch Anniversary

The NAACP Spring Valley Branch invites you to its Annual Freedom Fund Membership Gala, commemorating the Branch’s 75th Anniversary. This year’s event will recognize Unsung Heroes whose leadership and service have advanced equity, civil rights, and social justice within our community.

We are especially proud to honor former Spring Valley Branch Presidents whose dedication and leadership have left a lasting legacy of service and advocacy:

  • Nicole Artis-Bryant
  • Dr. Edmund Gordon
  • Karen Session
  • Vivian Street
  • Maybelle Whittle

A special tribute will also be paid to Virginia Atkins Beasley, who, as a young girl, authored the letter on behalf of her mother requesting the establishment of the NAACP Spring Valley Branch.

Proceeds from the event support local advocacy and community education initiatives that address race-based discrimination. Each ticket includes a one-year NAACP membership. We invite you to reserve your seat, bring a guest, and stand with the NAACP Spring Valley Branch in honoring those who continue to work toward justice and equal opportunity for all.

The gala will take place on June 19, 2026, at Town & Country South, 922 Route 9W, Congers, New York.
